FDR’s economic bill of rights.

FDR who brought reason into US politics believed that futher reforms were needed to preserve liberal democracy. Near the end of his life FDR suggested the United States should accept an economic bill  of rights. He believed that individual liberty was in danger if the economic rights of the citizens were not protected.

FDR’s suggestion of an economic bill of rights was rejected by the political class. Because political rights was not protected by an economic bill of rights big money undermined the New Deal. The rich got richer, the poor got poorer and the middle class got squeezed. We need FDR’s economic bill of rights today.
