Housing market and the real economy.

I see that the government is to consider rent control for Dublin and Cork. We have a housing crisis.  I was talking to someone who said that he couldn’t get people to work for him because they found  renting in Cork city was too costly. The present situation benifits those who control the housing market. It harms everyone else. There is less money to spend in other areas. There is the problem of wage demands going up. Whatever solution we decide to resolve this problem the government needs to put the needs of the real economy ahead of the needs of the property market.
