I supported the British Labour Party’s message of remain and reform. The majority of voters decided to vote leave. There were different reasons for this vote. The vote showed that Britain is a deeply divided nation. Many people on the left voted to leave because they blamed the E.U for neo liberalism. While I understand that feeling I respectfully disagree with that decision. The problem that Britain faces is that government supports policies that brings ruin to most of its people. The social protection that the E.U. has given to its workers are gone. The biggest winners of vote leave are UKIP and the right of the Conservative party. They rejected the E.U because it reduced further attacks on British workers. Scotland seeks independence again because they want a social democratic country within the E.U. If Scotland leaves the UK Labour’s chances of winning the next election is weakened. Wales which rejects the Conservative party by voting to leave have condemned themselves to further attacks on their rights.
Without a strong Labour party to protect the many against the few a strong Conservative government would open the door to a more reactionary party seeking support. In this case scapegoating will increase. We have seen Poland and Hungry dominated by reactionary governments. Britain could be next especially if Scotland leaves the UK to join the E.U.
