reflections on 1916

I have plans for my future. I hope to keep you updated.  Thanks to everyone who reads my blog.  I know I should update it more but I am working on that.

The purpose of this post is 1916. This year as we celebrate 100 of our struggle I think a major focus should be on the proclamation itself and what type of Ireland it seeks to bring about. The proclamation calls for an Ireland of equality between men and women. It seeks a free Ireland where the freedom of the nation is rooted in the freedom of the individual.  It seeks an Ireland where we are all equal no mater what our religion is.

The vision of Ireland the proclamation wants is still a work in progress. I hope in this year we will look at Ireland now and make the dream a reality. The greatest gift we can give to the women and men of 1916 is to make the dream a reality in the next 100 years.
