professional sports at a crossroads?

The crisis at FIFA should force us to pause and think. Sport and especially soccer fans should take stock of what is happening with their beautiful game.
Professional sports has interested me and fan reactions to professional sports has interested me too.The organisation of the games and ethical issues seems to be pushed into the background. While “our team” is cheered on these teams don’t technically belong to the supporters but to multi national businesses. Human rights are ignored. Why should tyrannical regimes like China be allowed to host international events like the Olympic games? At least the GAA with all its faults is a democratic organisation who’s elite players are amateur.
I ask genuine supporters to take back the game from big money.
