National plowing in Ireland is on this week in County Laois. This event has become a place where farmers and those interested in rural Ireland can meet exchange ideas and look at new machines and other stands. The media will put the needs of rural Ireland at the centre of our attention. The political parties will be there to listen to the needs of rural Ireland. I can’t be there this week but I hope everyone who attends will have a good time.
The official opening of Dairygold in Mallow is good news for the region. There is an opportunity for extra jobs and the farmers and the local economy will benefit from this expansion. Dairygold a farmer owned Co operative is an example of an Irish owned argi business. I believe that this sector as it develops will aid Ireland in its economic development.
